about

100% OF PROCEEDS DONATED to St. Elizabeth Hospice, who provide amazing palliative care for those with serious and life-long illnesses - www.stelizabethhospice.org.uk/about-us/ - they weren't able to host the usual Christmas Day Dip fundraiser this year, so this is for them. Please give what you can.

I broke my ankle in October and thought I'd write a song about it. Recovery has been slow and at times difficult, but I'm getting there.

Created in December 2020 using: FXpansion Strobe2 & Cypher2, BFD3, Madrona Labs Aalto, Vital, EXS24 sample instruments, voice and guitar.

Festive greetings courtesy of (in no particular order): Simon Byf, Mark, Coleman, Emily, Lucy, Ollie, Zosia, Dad, Georgia, Isotta, Leah, Matt, Josh, Zeke, Lisa, Mia, Mum, Emma, Lizzy, Dean, Anouk, Rachel, Penny, Anaise, Simon Boof, Sophie, Theo, Zoë, Lifeguard John, Ceri, Paul, Indi, Chris, Vero, Tom, Mal, Ev, Jack, Alice, Greg and Catherine.

LYRICS

Some tipple, I topple
A triple-jump stumble
I fumble my way to the top of the stairs
One hand on the rail If I want to be home this Christmas
Rather than in a hospital bed

My bum, it is aching sore
Sitting and waiting
For the healing to mend me
And let me stand free

I haven't got a leg that works
But I've got a heart that does
Seeing in Christmastime
Feeling that big warm fuzz

Putting up decorations
With armchair input
My ankle is broke and I've got a sore knee
A stiff little drink
For my stiff little limbs
To loosen me up ready for Christmas tea

There's limited movement
Hoping for improvement
I’m covered in soot, probably shouldn’t be
For climbing up chimneys
And necking down whiskeys
Is surely not conducive to recovery

I haven't got a leg that works
But I've got a heart that does
Seeing in Christmastime
Feeling that big warm fuzz

My bum, it is aching sore
Sitting and waiting
For the healing to mend me
And let me stand free

I haven't got a leg that works
But I've got a heart that does
Seeing in Christmastime
Feeling that big warm fuzz

I haven't got a leg that works
But I've got a heart that does
(I'm not walking at the mo)
Seeing in Christmastime
Feeling that big warm fuzz
