With its own tiny baubles
And a musical box
Festive tunes full of warbles

(To keep my spirits high during this time of year)

I miss being on Earth
Sharing gifts, playing games
Amongst all who I love
But I find that their names
Don’t quite come to me any more

(Their faces fading fast from my memory, I fear)

I'm an astronaut, I'm a little distraught
‘cause I'm stuck here at Christmas one AU* away
From a home that I know, such a long way to go
But I cling to the hope of returning one day...

And the tin’s almost empty,
Only Orange Cremes left
You know, once they are gone
I’ll be surely bereft; they’re my favourite

Way out here at the fourth Lagrange Point, I remember
My February relative to Earth is December

But I get by just fine

Watching stardust ignite

That I’m doing alright
I’m pretty easy to please
It really isn’t too bad
With decorations like these

I miss the tinsel and cheer
Post-Christmas dinner belt-squeeze
I'm quite content to gaze out
